How to choose the right valve for my plant?

What is the difference between ball valves and butterfly valves?
Ball valves provide tight shut-off and are ideal for isolation with minimal pressure drop. Butterfly valves are more compact and lightweight, excellent for large diameters (DN 50-600) and flow regulation. For steam systems, ball valves with steam-rated seals are recommended; for large-diameter water lines, butterfly valves are often the best choice. Our team helps you choose the right type.
Does Roffia size control valves?
Yes. Roffia technical team performs complete control valve sizing: Kv coefficient calculation based on flow rate, ΔP and operating conditions, body selection (2-way or 3-way, linear or equal-percentage), actuator selection (pneumatic or electric) and positioner specification (4-20 mA, HART). We supply the complete assembly ready for installation: valve + actuator + positioner.
Problems with cavitation, noise or premature wear in valves?
These issues often indicate a mis-sized or incorrectly selected valve. Cavitation occurs when downstream pressure drops below the fluid vapour pressure; excessive noise may result from high velocities or an unsuitable flow characteristic. Roffia analyses operating conditions and proposes the correct solution: different valve type, anti-cavitation trim, or re-sizing.
